Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was among the many Kenyans who were touched by the plight of the young girl who lost her mother over the lack of funds to facilitate her Form One admission.
Babu took to Instagram to express his disappointment about the fact that Esther Ndanu Kioko had to lose her life over her frustrations in failing to secure the future of her kid.
He then asked everyone who had any information about the whereabouts of the student to reach him promptly so that he would offer her his support.
“This is so sad. Anyone with information leading to the child kindly contact me,” Babu wrote, quoting a screenshot of a news piece about the incident.
Joining other well-wishers, he pledged to sponsor the bereaved girl’s education until she completed her University education.
“I will ensure this girl is educated to the university level, “He continued on his Instagram post.
Ndanu took her life leaving a suicide note that expressed her frustrations over having failed to secure funds to ensure her girl did not miss the form one admission.
Reports have it that before the incident, the daughter had threatened to end her life if she did not join High school.
The daughter had attained 396 marks, earning her a place at Chogoria Girls High School, Tharaka Nithi County.
The case has received a massive response with well-wishers flocking to offer their support to the bereaved student.
