Ex-CS Kambi Kazungu Furthering Studies

A former Cabinet Secretary has revealed that he wasn’t too dejected after being dropped by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kambi Kazungu, who served as Labour CS until December 2016, was among five ministers who were suspended from office over corruption allegations.

The others were Felix Koskei (Agriculture), Davis Chirchir (Energy), Michael Kamau (Infrastructure) and Charity Ngilu (Lands).

Despite being cleared by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Kambi was hounded out of office and replaced by Phyllis Kandie.

However, in a recent interview, the former Kaloleni MP, said dismissal might have been a blessing in disguise.

Kambi revealed that he really longed for time to further his studies and the opportunity presented itself when he was shown the door.

The ex-CS is pursuing a PhD at Maseno University in Kisumu County. He has just wrapped up his first year and expects to finish in 2021.

When his head is not buried in books, Kambi chairs the Coast Development Authority (CDA) board.

He also has more time to supervise his businesses.
