Senator Irungu Kang’ata Names Child After Una Morgan

Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata on Wednesday revealed that he named his second child after a popular reggae band artist.

The Senator's love for the Caribbean themed genre of music went a notch higher as he christened his baby girl after a member of Morgan Heritage - a popular Jamaican reggae band.

"I named my second child Euna Morgan," Kang’ata declared.

He went on to add that he grew up listening to reggae music, leading to his adoration of the genre.

Following a suspension while in campus for opposing the parallel degree programme, Kang’ata took up deejaying as a way to sustain himself.

Dj Nyutu was his stage name, and he went on to make waves in the Murang’a party scene for a period of two years.

The senator cited that his adulation for the genre arises from the fact that majority of reggae songs tackle real issues.

"I love reggae but I think I love Morgan Heritages’ songs more because of the message they have," he added.

Kang’ata is known to work with various artistes within his county, in an effort to help them optimize their potential.

The Murang’a Senator also revealed that he sings to his wife occasionally, to lift her spirits.
