Senator Kipchumba Murkomen Attacks Raila Odinga for Expelling ODM MPs

Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen attacked ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga and Senator James Orengo over the expulsion of two ODM MPs

Murkomen faulted the party claiming that they expelled MPs Aisha Jumwa (Malindi) and Suleiman Dori (Msambweni) for associating with Deputy President William Ruto who co-founded ODM but has since moved to Jubilee Party.

"Who could believe that ODM of Raila Odinga & James Orengo of ”2nd liberation” can expel any party member let alone leaders for associating with the DP, the founding member of ODM & former DPL? "he posed.

The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator explained the irony of how ODM's top leadership had mended their relationship with the DP yet they were punishing their members for following the lead.

"No wonder one of them recently told me it was a handshake, not handshakes," Murkomen quipped.

In a letter signed by the ODM Secretary-General, Edwin Sifuna, its National Executive Committee adopted a recommendation by the Disciplinary Committee to have Jumwa and Dori expelled from the party.

They also recommended that the two be de-whipped from all Parliamentary Committees they were serving in the National Assembly with immediate effect.

The Malindi MP, Aisha, had announced her plan to leave ODM before the 2022 elections.

She, however, promised her supporters that she would continue serving them through ODM until 2022 when she will officially quit.

Naona mwenyewe sababu macho ninayo, na uamuzi wangu wa 2022 hautarudi nyuma. Hivi sasa nitawatumikia ndani ya ODM, lakini ikifika 2022, nimehama, (I can see by myself because I have got eyes and my 2022 decision will not be disrupted. Right now, I will work for you through ODM but when 2022 comes, I will switch.)” stated the legislator.
