Kidnappers Rob Man, Drag Him on Tarmac to Death

A man met his untimely and gruesome death on Wednesday night after his kidnappers turned killers and dragged him on the tarmac to his demise.

The victim had reportedly been hijacked by unknown people and stabbed several times.

Makueni police commander, Joseph Napeiyan, indicated that the suspects pushed the deceased out of a moving car but he was trapped by the seat belt and dragged for about 200 meters.

"His skin and flesh had peeled off and also the body had deep cuts," Napeiyan stated.

According to boda boda riders at Itangini Shopping Centre, the deceased was heard screaming for help as he drove past them towards Machakos direction with one leg dangling out of the car.

"This prompted us to chase the car but the suspects escaped when the vehicle veered off the road and landed into a ditch," a boda boda operator was quoted.

The body was found hanging from the car which was abandoned near Kilala Shopping Centre shortly after 8pm.

"This indeed was brutal and the motive was just to kill, we have arrested one suspect and recovered three mobile phones.

"We will use all the items we have collected from the scene including gloves to pursue the other suspects," the Makueni police commander noted.

The suspect arrested at Ukia Junction, along the same road in connection with the killing, had cuts and blood stains and was dressed only in trousers.

When the suspect was asked what had happened to him, he indicated that he had been attacked by sand harvesters although the area has no such people.
