Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki Loses Mother

Tharaka Nithi Governor Onesmus Muthomi Njuki, on Tuesday, lost his mother.

Jennifer Cianjagi Njuki was a nursery school teacher and a businesswoman who was described as a strong woman of Christian faith.

It was, however, not immediately clear what caused her death.

Taking to social media, Meru County Governor Kiraitu Murungi expressed his condolences to Njuki and his family for their loss.

He described the deceased as a committed member of the PCEA Woman's Guild at Rubate Church.

"On behalf of the people of Meru County, my family and my own behalf, I express my deepest condolences to my friend and colleague, Tharaka-Nithi Governor, Hon. Onesmus Muthomi Njuki and the entire Njuki family for the loss of their mother, Mama Jennifer Cianjagi Njuki.

"We condole with the Njuki family and mourn Mama Jennifer, a nursery school teacher, businesswoman and a farmer in her heyday. Mama Jennifer was also a mother of strong Christian faith and church leader, being a committed member of the PCEA Woman's Guild at Rubate Church. May God Rest Her Soul in Eternal Peace," posted Governor Murungi.

This comes just months after Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed lost her mother-in-law Begum Shameem Ahmed just months after she lost her brother Yusuf Mohamed Jibril.

President Uhuru Kenyatta sent a message of condolence to the family, relatives, and friends describing the mother-in-law as a great woman and a respected citizen who served the nation with distinction.

"Indeed Shameem Ahmed was one of the most distinguished ladies of her time. She was a matriarch, completely devoted to her family and the nation," stated Uhuru
