Police Arrest KDF Impostor Using Police Equipment in Mombasa

A multi-agency security team based in Mombasa, on Wednesday night, arrested a Kenya Defence Forces impostor in possession of police equipment.

According to the police, the suspect, Moses Kioko, 35, could have links to a terror cell.

Kisauni Sub-county commander Christopher Limo revealed that the police recovered high-tech police radio communication gadgets and a vehicle.

"Police also recovered five mobile phones, KDF uniforms and a vehicle, whose owner is not known," stated Limo.

The commander further disclosed that the suspect had been handed over to the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) for further questioning

Kioko was arrested in Mshomoroni area in Mombasa.

In December 2018, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) arrested a notorious criminal, Peter Nyabogoye Kaunda, after he was caught printing Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) documents without authority.

The police revealed that they nabbed the impostor at Sir Yusuf Club in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).

“Detectives working on information from the members of the public yesterday arrested Mr Peter Nyabogoye Kaunda, a 25-year-old man, found making (KDF) documents without Authority. The suspect was nabbed at the Sir Yusuf Club within the Central Business District,” read the statement from DCI.
