Standard Media to Launch 2 State-of-the-Art Radio Stations

Standard Media Group is in the final stages of launching two new radio stations to add to its portfolio of media outlets.

A closely placed source intimated to Kenyans.co.ke that the media conglomerate was currently testing all their transmitters ahead of the launch in March 2019.

The state-of-the-art studios are expected to add visuals to normal audio radio broadcasts - a concept known as visual radio

One of the stations, Spice FM will target an audience of between 25 to 55 years while the other, Vybes FM, targets the youth and will be a 24/7 reggae playing station.

Photos of Standard Media Head of Radio Tom Japanni with Morgan Heritage's Mojo have further fueled the anticipation.

The new radio stations are going to unveil a completely new roster of presenters and hosts.

"No recycling of talents. Expect new personalities," a well-placed source assured.

The entrance of the new stations will increase competition in the audiovisual radio industry.

Currently, only NRG Radio, that was launched in 2018, offers both audio and visual elements in their broadcast.
