DP William Ruto Attacks Raila Odinga for Expelling Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa

Deputy President William Ruto has blasted the ODM party and its leadership for expelling Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.

While addressing a gathering in Kilifi on Saturday, Ruto stated that the party was frustrating Jumwa for no reason.

''Many men have said the things that Jumwa is being penalized for. However, the party has taken no action against them. They are running out of ideas.

"They said that they want to use her as an example. If you are man enough, why have you not taken action against men who have said the same things?" Ruto posed.

The DP also faulted the party for assembling its committee to discuss one woman, adding that she's among the few women who have competed in their constituencies and won.

Ruto further explained that the problem with Kenya is that it has cheeky leaders, who say one thing and do the complete opposite.

His sentiments ignited a heated debate on social media, many criticized him for poking his nose into people's affairs instead of worrying about his party.

Jumwa was expelled from ODM on March 1. The party's National Governing Council explained that she had been expelled for gross misconduct.

She was accused of supporting Ruto's 2022 presidential bid and visiting various parts of the country to drum up support for him.
