Rashid Echesa Going Back to School After Losing CS Job

Former Sports CS Rashid Echesa would like to further his education.

In an interview with Sunday Nation, Echesa revealed that he was ready to go back to school because he has more time now.

"I'm also young and time is definitely on my side. It’s back to the drawing board and strategise.

Who knows, I could as well have those academic papers that people keep talking about,” the former CS explained.

When the ex-boxer was in office, Kenyans questioned his academic qualifications. Some even claimed that he was a class 7 drop out.

As such, he was seen as undeserving of a cabinet post. Perhaps, this would explain why netizens celebrated when he was relieved of his duties.

On March 1, President Kenyatta announced that he had fired the controversial CS and replaced him with Amina Mohamed.

Echesa had been mentioned in a number of cases that might have led to his dismissal from the cabinet.

Apart from being entangled in a money laundering case, the former CS found himself in trouble when eight Pakistani belly dancers who were arrested in Parklands, Nairobi claimed that they were in the country with his full permission.

He was also accused of paying three journalists to photoshop images of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala in bed with a woman.
