Mesmerised Girls Cheer Uhuru Driving Their School Bus

President Uhuru Kenyatta is known for deviating from protocol in many instances to get behind the wheel and drive himself.

In 2017, he surprised students at Maasai Girls High School with a gift of a bus that he later drove.

It was during the height of the campaigns leading to the General Election that he made the delivery.

The visibly excited students cheered the President on as he drove the bus with teachers and schoolgirls on board.

Kenyans, as always, did not hesitate to make fun of the president's bus drive.

Given that it was an election year, one Loretta Bunde joked that Uhuru was looking for an alternative job in case he would lose the election.

"Enyewe imebidi aanze kusaka job mapema (Uhuru has started looking for a job early enough)...securing a job after August will be tough..KBS tafadhali wekeni vacancies (KBS should reserve vacancies)," she wrote.

"Rais wetu pia naona unatosha kuwa dereva wa matatu za Githurai 45 (I can see our president is suited to drive Githurai 45 matatus)," commented Joshinski Musembi

In November 2018, President Kenyatta also drove a bus belonging to Jilore High School, Malindi.

The school's Deputy Principal Rachael Fikirini had been accompanied by students to State House, Nairobi to receive the bus.
