Police Unearth Human Trafficking Ring in Isiolo

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have rescued 8 Eritreans who were being sneaked to Asia through Kenya.

The victims, aged between 17 and 31, are believed to be victims of human trafficking.

Standard reports that sleuths intercepted the vehicle that was transporting the victims at Wamba Junction in Isiolo County. 

The detectives arrested three people who were facilitating their movement. Their names are; Alhabass Ali, Abdi Hassan, and Ibrahim Adan.

However, one managed to escape and is being pursued by the police.

Police, on Friday, detained two vehicles believed to be connected to the trafficking ring. 

This incident comes four weeks after detectives, who were acting on a tip-off, unearthed a human trafficking ring in Kakamega and rescued 38 women. 

The women, aged between 19 and 45, were preparing to travel to the Middle East where when they were nabbed.

A 33-year-old woman who was behind the racket was arrested and taken to Kakamega Police Station.
