Billboard Bearing Raila Odinga's Image Causes Huge Debate on Twitter

A billboard that bore the image of ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga caused a heated debate on Twitter on Sunday.

The advertising board, whose location is unknown, showed Odinga urging people to register for the Huduma Namba.

The billboard had the inscription, "Nimejisajili... Je wewe? (I have registered... what about you?) with the former Prime Minister's photo placed below the writing.

The billboard has elicited mixed reactions from netizens. Economist David Ndii threw the first stone explaining that one would easily assume that Odinga had given up.

"This is such a climbdown. I hope he knows what he is doing," he posted.

Other Twitter users seemed to agree with him. They claimed that by agreeing to work with the government and going on to champion such initiatives, it showed that Odinga had been outsmarted.

Kevin Ayusa wrote, "Every once in a while, there comes a time when the existing order starts fading. Just like the rest, he has also done damage to this nation."

Ramzie Ken posted, "Raila sold his soul to money. It's all about the money and not the good of the people."

Zamu Hajj commented, "This should be taken down like yesterday, it is hurting my eyes."

Odinga has been in the frontline in urging Kenyans to register for Huduma Namba. On April 2, he led a registration exercise in Mombasa.
