A 24-year-old woman in Nyaribo, Nyeri, died in the early hours of Monday after allegedly being stabbed by her estranged lover.
The man is said to have tracked the lady to her friend's house where she had moved to after they separated a while ago.
It is alleged that the suspect stabbed the victim in the neck.
While confirming the incident, Nyeri Central Sub-County Police Commander Paul Kuria revealed that the suspect went into hiding immediately after committing the crime and that a manhunt had been launched.
"He took off as soon as he committed the act. We are currently looking for him," Kuria stated.
Nation reports that no clear information about the trigger to the alteration had been revealed but the police were suspecting the two had relationship issues.
This comes a few days after a Moi University medical student Ivy Wangechi was hacked to death by her supposed lover at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Eldoret where she was enrolled on internship.
Her attacker, Naftali Kinuthia, claimed that Ivy was her lover and they had been experiencing relationship issues for a while.
Another student from Pwani University is fighting for her life at the Kilifi county hospital after being stabbed several times by her boyfriend, whom they have a child with, for rejecting a gift of Ksh 3200.
Still, in Nyeri, a 30-year-old woman is recuperating in hospital after her husband stabbed her 17 times.
The husband has surrendered to police and is expected to be arraigned in court.
