Moses Kuria's Chopper Disrupts Ivy Wangechi's Funeral

Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria disrupted Ivy Wangechi's funeral programme for a few minutes when he arrived at the ceremony in a chopper.

When he was about to land, the wind generated by the propellers blew off a part of the tent.

Mourners had gathered at Mahiga village, Nyeri county for Wangechi's burial, a medical student at Moi University who was hacked to death by Naftaly Kinuthia, a suspect who has been detained to pave way for investigations.

Taking to the podium, the Gatundu South MP eulogized Wangechi as a bright and hardworking student.

In his speech, he also blasted parents and guardians for pretending to understand problems facing the youth.

"We need to give our young people an environment for them to discuss their problems. When they find a solution, they will come and tell us that this is the solution," Kuria cited.

He revealed that he would bring together student leaders of various Universities to shed light on problems facing the youth.

"In the parliament, there are at least 20 of us who were student leaders. I have decided to take the initiative to bring them together to work with the current student leaders from the universities. We will have a conversation 'from the youth to the youth' first before we invite the CS," he added.

Kuria stated that he had already engaged various leaders including the president of Jomo Kenyatta University (JKUAT) and Ann Mwangi from University of Nairobi (UoN) among others.

Wangechi's mother also paid an emotional tribute to her daughter whom he described as a hardworking lady.

"We wish you did not go so soon our caretaker. Our best friend. We love you even in death. Fare thee well my sleeping beauty it is so sad to say goodbye so I'll see you in heaven," she stated.
