Waititu's Punjab University Photo That Kenyans Can't Believe

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu posted a throwback photo of him at Punjab University and Kenyans are finding it hard to believe.

The governor stated that a school mate had visited him and brought along the photo.

The image could have been used to confirm doubts that the governor attended the said school but it only rekindled the debate instead.

Cyrus Kiarie asked why the photo didn't have any Indians yet Punjab University was in India.

"Unataka kusema wahindi wote walikua wamefunga shule? Hii ni Kiambu Tekiniko (You want to tell us that all the Indians were on holiday? This is a school in Kiambu)" he commented.

Akama Justin stated that the photo was meant to divert attention from Kiambu County's ridiculous budget allocations that were indicated in the erroneous audit report.

A section of Facebook users wondered why Waititu had captioned the photo "Somewhere in Punjab" instead of giving a brief description of the exact location in the school where the picture was taken from.

While many others suggested that the governor was photoshopped into the photo but Timothy Gichuru, a computer graphics expert, confirmed to Kenyans.co.ke that the image was authentic.

Waititu's predecessor, William Kabogo, who also attended the same university, was once ordered to pay Ksh5.3 million for falsely accusing the governor of lying about his admission at the institution.

Speaking about why the two politicians had never met at the university, Waititu explained that Kabogo was four years ahead of him.
