Luhya Leaders Grand Scheme to Siphon Off Ruto - Mudavadi

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has revealed a plot reportedly orchestrated by several Luhya leaders allied to DP William Ruto.

Mudavadi now claims that the leaders plan to dump the DP and support him (Mudavadi) for the 2022 race after siphoning off Ruto’s money.

He laughed at how Ruto was allegedly dishing out money in a bid to earn supremacy in the Western region, claiming that he was not afraid of the DP’s antics even if some of the Luhya leaders have shifted camp.

I am not worried about the many visits other people make in the Western region. Some leaders crossing over does not necessarily translate into votes. In fact, he (Ruto) should be worried because they only invite him for fundraisers. Those people are only interested in his wallet,” claimed Mudavadi.

Mudavadi was referring to a number of Luhya leaders such as former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, who recently dumped Ford-Kenya for Jubilee, and has been spearheading campaigns for Ruto in the Western Region.

DP Ruto has been on a mission to bring on board former and current political leaders from his Western backyard, which is one of the country’s vote-rich basket.

In the interview with The Standard, Mudavadi asserted that he was the favorite candidate to replace Uhuru in the seat of power and he is already making moves to create powerful alliances that will back him in 2022.

He believes that 2022 is his right time and opportunity to be president after supporting Uhuru in 2002 and ODM leader Raila Odinga twice in 2007 and 2017.

The former vice president has been traveling across the country to popularize and sell his agenda and policies as well as get views of Kenyans on things they want to be fixed so as to better their living standards.

On Tuesday, the ANC leader met some Kikuyu Council of Elders in Limuru as he sets up his plans for his second bid for State House.
