A Friday night accident along the Nairobi-Meru highway has left 4 people dead and 8 others seriously injure.
The accident near Blue post hotel in Thika involved a lorry transporting sand and a public service vehicle.
The driver of the lorry is said to have lost control of the vehicle and hit passenger car next to it.
The accident caused congestion along the highway for hours before police officers arrived at the scene and cleared up the traffic jam.
Thika traffic police base commander Appeles Chacha confirmed the accident saying that several accidents had been witnessed in the past along the highway.
He called on motorists to be mindful of other road users and drive safely.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Thika level five hospital morgue while the injured wer taken to different hospitals in Thika.
