A road accident in Munyu along the Garissa Road in Thika has led to the death of four people.
The Wednesday morning accident occured when a speeding lorry crashed into the matatu.
Witness accounts indicate that the matatu veered off the road, rollling several times.
The matatu had been carrying 18 passengers, instead of the recommended 14.
2 people died on the spot while 2 others succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
The other passengers were taken to Thika Level Five Hospital for treatment.
According to a report by a local publication, the driver of the speeding lorry fled the scene after the accident.
