NTV Managing Director in charge of Broadcasting has resigned from his position at the media house.
A well-placed source at the station told Kenyans.co.ke that Kobia's last day of work will be June 22.
He had been brought in after former Managing Editor Linus Kaikai left NTV for Citizen TV.
“He will lead our strategic effort in driving growth in the areas of programming, convergence, and commercial,” read the statement that was released on Kobia's appointment.
Kobia's main duty was ensuring that the broadcast division performed well so as to meet the overall strategy of the media company through the formulation and successful implementation of policies.
Kobia holds a Masters in Science degree from the University of Liverpool.
He joined the Nation Media Group in 2018 from Aljazeera Media Group where he was the Head of Sales and Distribution, Sub Saharan Africa.
He has previously held senior positions at Aljazeera, African Media Group Limited (AMGL) in Tanzania, TV Africa in Kenya & Uganda, Sanyu Television in Uganda and Kenya Television Network (KTN) in Kenya.
On May 31, K24 TV presenter, Serah Teshna announced her departure from the station after working there for one and a half years.
Teshna, who was the 'K24 Alfajiri' show presenter thanked her directors, producers and the media max fraternity who entrusted her with the job.
"When I started I was very fresh, very green but you guys just trusted in me and held my hand," Teshna stated.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Teshna stated that she would reveal her next career path soon.
