Fiery Yvonne Okwara Condemns Governors on TV for Seeking Treatment Abroad [VIDEO]

Citizen TV Anchor Yvonne Okwara on Thursday condemned Kenyan Governors and a racket of other leaders for seeking medical treatment abroad.

She insinuated that simply by doing that, the leaders were not fulfilling their mandate which included improving the national health care system.

Speaking in a rather disappointed tone, the no-nonsense presenter blasted the governors for seeking medical treatment abroad including in public hospitals of host countries funded by taxpayers money.

"In Africa, we don't speak ill of the dead or those who are unwell but tonight we must talk about them.

"(Joyce, Bomet Governor) Laboso's predecessor Isaac Ruto caused a stir in 2016 when he went to South Africa to seek treatment for injuring his nose in a protest. Prof Anyang Nyong'o and nominated Senator Beth Mugo have also been on the road seeking treatment thousands of miles away from Kenya," she stated.

She further highlighted the fact that some of the injuries that the ladies fly out to treat are not so complicated that local healthcare cannot handle.

"Granted, sometimes the leaders who travel abroad seek treatment that may not be available here, but fixing a broken nose, a leg fracture!" she posed.

Even presidents were not spared from her rants when he picked on Daniel Moi who sought for treatment in Israel in a public hospital.

"Most of them do not even go to big private Hospitals by the way. When former President Daniel Moi went to Israel for knee surgery, he is reported to have visited Ichilov Hospital in Israel. It is a municipal hospital funded by taxpayers in that country," she continued.

This comes just a days after photos surfaced of Raila Odinga visiting the ailing Governor Laboso who was seeking treatment in the UK.
