Ruto Sets Condition Before Giving 'Kijana Mfupi Round' a Job

When the term Mulmulwas (Kijana Mfupi Round) became a viral sensation, many took it is a passing cloud and a comic relief meant to refer to a person with a short plump figure.

The term was made popular by West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo who was expressing his frustration over a politician who was undermining his administration.

The man himself, Dennis Ruto went to capitalise on the governor's remarks to launch a grassroots movement advocating against theft public funds in the counties.

The term itself attracted the attention of various political figures including President Uhuru Kenyatta and most recently DP William Ruto.

During an address in West Pokot on Friday, the DP offered Dennis a job on the condition that he stopped opposing all of the government projects in the area.

"Huyu kijana anaitwa mulmulwas atatafutiwa kazi lakini awache kupinga miradi ya serikali lazima akome (I want to say Mulmulwas will be given a job but first he must stop opposing government projects. He must stop)" Ruto stated.

He went on to add, "Kuzuia sewage system isijengwe si kazi, hiyo ni upuzi! (Blocking the construction of a sewage system is not work, that's plain ignorance)

The DP went on to caution the politician telling him to take care of the forces he chooses to fight.

He added that the security and wellbeing of the people was paramount and a key ingredient of powering development.

"Increased security personnel; supporting community peace initiatives; intelligence sharing and enhanced surveillance are key interventions, which will promote a favourable business climate, attract investors and foster sustainable development," he noted after opening a multi-purpose hall for Tamkal Secondary School and the community in Tamkal, Sigor, West Pokot County.
