A section of Jubilee MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto has hit out at Muranga Woman Representative Sabina Chege after she wept uncontrollably during a public rally in her own backyard where she was heckled.
Speaking on Saturday during a fundraiser in Mukurweini, Nyeri County where they had accompanied the DP, they told Sabina that she had brought her heckling upon herself.
Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami and Naivasha MP Jane Kihara were the first to take shots at their Muranga counterpart.
“The Embrace Team should brace itself for hard times ahead. Sabina Chege will cry more because of associating with people who were opposed to Uhuru’s re-election. Voters are sharp,” spoke Kihara.
The Nyeri Woman Rep warned that Team Embrace was not welcome in her county and that it would not cross Kangocho in Karatina if its members dared to organise a rally in her backyard.
The Naivasha MP announced that a separate team of women leaders had been formed with the main duty of campaigning for DP Ruto's presidential bid.
Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua also took shots at the team of female politicians, headed by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru. that had organised the public rally in Muranga.
“If you walk with those who were insulting the President, what do you expect?” Rigathi asked, referring to Sabina's woes.
On Friday, during her speech, Sabina tried to beg her constituents to listen to her but her pleas fell on deaf ears.
"I swear if you were sent by somebody. I beseech you as your county mother, do not disrespect me in front of my guests," she implored amidst tears.
