Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria, found himself on the wrong end of hilarious jokes following his comments after he was teargassed on Wednesday.
Kuria was in visible discomfort as he addressed the police after several of the stinging teargas canisters had been launched in the area to disperse rowdy youth who were agitating for the release of the recently incarcerated Starehe MP Charles Njagua alias Jaguar.
It was Kuria's remarks outside the police precinct that elicited hilarious reactions from Netizens, his calls for a revolution didn't go unnoticed with a senior ODM official joining in on the fun.
"The way Moses Kuria was sipping that teargas, he looked like someone who had really missed this thing of teargas," Senate Majority leader Kipchumba remarked amid hearty laughter during his interview with Jeff Koinange on Wednesday night.
Not to be left behind, ODM Secretary General, Edwin Sifuna weighed in by mocking Kuria's call for a revolution after his brief brush with the toxic gas.
"Unakula teargas nusu saa unaanza kunusa revolution... Na ukikula weekly for a year kama wengine wetu si utanusa second coming?" loosely translating to, you call for a revolution after such a small dose of teargas! If you had gone through the same for weeks on end as we did, you'd probably be calling for the second coming of Christ.
Netizens didn't spare the vocal MP either, as they launched scathing and hilarious attacks on him.
"MP down, I repeat MP down! Can we have medics please, does anyone know CPR here?" Wycliffe Kodongo posted.
Several comments alluded to football-themed jokes, calling out Sifuna's comments as a hard tackle that warranted the referee's attention.
"I didn't know Moses Kuria's breaking point was this low, just a whiff of tear gas and the man turns philosophical and sage-like," Nicholas Chirchir posted.
One particular netizen pointed out a quote made by Kuria back on June 4, 2016, where he was pushing for the use of teargas on demonstrators, stating that taxpayers had paid for teargas, water dispensers and bullets, and thus they should be used effectively.
