Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama treated his teammates to a sumptuous dinner at a five-star hotel in Cairo on Friday night.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s generous actions came after the team won a crucial game against neighbors Tanzania in a 3-2 comeback win.
The team chose to dress in casual, with white shirts and khaki trousers, as they smiled and posed for pics in between enjoying their meals.
The dinner was meant to buoy the team as they wait to undertake a herculean task against wounded Sadio Mane’s Senegalese Lions on Monday.
Kenya must now fight the battle of their lives against Senegal to have a strong case for a knockout slot.
The team can also eye the knockout slot by being among the four best losers in the tournament.
Harambee Stars players pocketed bonuses worth Ksh 250,000 per player after their stunning 3-2 comeback win against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) derby in Cairo, Egypt.
Each player will be awarded Ksh 500,000 for participating in the AFCON tourney.
The players already pocketed Ksh 250,000 each for participating in their pre-tournament training in Paris, France.
In Group C, Algeria is on six points as Senegal and Kenya are on three apiece, with the Taifa Stars rock bottom with zero.
