Obado Storms Function to Warn MP

Migori Governor Okoth Obado, on Friday, stormed a fundraiser at  Nyabisawa Girls Secondary School to warn Suna West MP Peter Masara.

A report by The Standard indicated that the governor wasn't too pleased that Masara has been calling him corrupt in his absence.

He had tried to meet the legislator to talk to him over the issue but his efforts bore no fruits.

This prompted him to gatecrash the fund drive which was hosted by Suna East MP Junet Mohammed

According to the publication, Obado arrived after people had settled down and picked up the microphone to address the gathering.

He told off Masara and other leaders who were referring to him as corrupt wherever they go.

“I am not corrupt as some of you have been claiming, I have not stolen anything, in fact, some of you are of worse characters.

“There are people who find joy in calling me a thief wherever they go and then take off to the city, Hon. Masara, stop that bad behaviour, I am not a thief,” Obado stated.

He urged elected leaders to serve their constituents instead of engaging in name-calling.

The leaders who were in attendance, including Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, sat in silence as Obado vented his anger.
