President Uhuru Blamed for Kenya's Problems- Infotrak Poll

Latest results of a survey carried out by Infotrak on Sunday revealed that Majority of Kenyans were of the opinion that the country was on the wrong trajectory.

The research and consulting firm revealed that a staggering 48% of Kenyans expressed their concern about the direction the country is headed in.

“After the handshake 55 per cent of Kenyans felt that the country was going in the right direction. There was so much hope that things would change but as of June, this year 48 per cent of us feel we are headed to the wrong direction," Infotrak Chief Executive Officer, Angela Ambitho revealed.

Interestingly, 26% of the sample size laid the blame squarely on President Uhuru Kenyatta as per the results shared by Infotrak.

When quizzed on who was responsible for the country heading into the wrong direction, the majority fingered the president, with all politicians coming in at second place with 15 per cent.

The main reasons for the general sense of decline in the country were cited as unemployment, high cost of living and rampant corruption.

58% of Kenyans also expressed their dissatisfaction within the recently released budget, citing the failure by the government decrease taxes levied on consumer goods as the key reason for their disapproval.

However, despite Uhuru taking the lion's share of the blame for the current state of affairs, his Jubilee party was still the people's party of choice, well ahead of the opposition.

40 per cent of the sample size identified with the ruling party, which was almost twice as much as the second-placed party (Orange Democratic Movement) that identified with 21 per cent of the populous.

To the surprise of many, a huge chunk of the population (31%) expressed that an opposition party was non-existent in Kenya at the moment.
