Murkomen's Reaction to Itumbi's Arrest Goes Wrong

Kenyans on Twitter lived up to their hype as they roasted Senate Majority Leader, Kipchumba Murkomen, over his reaction to the arrest of Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi.

Itumbi, who serves as the Digital Innovations and Diaspora Communications Secretary, was taken into custody on Wednesday in regards to a fake letter on an alleged plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.

The Senator was quick to claim that Itumbi's arrest was a diversion from the main theme which he felt was the authenticity of the threat towards DP Ruto.

"Did PS in charge of DCI say Ruto must be stopped Saitoti way? Who complained about the assassination? And to who? The authenticity of the allegations is more important than a letter," a section of his tweet disclosed.

However, this prompted hundreds of netizens to face up to the Senator on the social media platform where they went on to light him up with some hilarious comments.

"Take your grievances to Karura DCI, not twitter. In fact, the prosecution should apply to detain him for 45 days pending investigations," Paul Taabu posted.

Others were quick to point out that trying to gain voter empathy by playing the victim card would no longer be tolerated.

"Sympathy votes expired. Renew strategy. Over and out," Cngunza tweeted.

The majority leader, who is closely affiliated to DP Ruto, was taken through the burners, earning over 150 comments in under 20 minutes.

"It’s now time to separate facts from funeral declarations. Who authored the letter? Under whose instructions and what was the intent? Where’s the proof this assassination talk happened. As a lawyer compile that and go secure your client’s release, Twitter tuwachie sasa," Kinyan boy posted.

Self proclaimed NRM Kenya General, Miguna Miguna also weighed in on the matter claiming that the entire fiasco was president Uhuru Kenyatta's grand plan to curb his deputy.

"Dennis Itumbi is trending today because Uhuru Kenyatta has arrested him. Itumbi is just collateral damage in a proxy war Uhuru Kenyatta has declared on his deputy William Ruto," Miguna tweeted.

Here are a few more screenshots of some the hilarious tweets and memes that were flung at the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator.
