Popular city lawyer and businessman Karanja Kabage is dead.

According to a press release by the Director of Corporate Communications at the National Police Service (NPS) Charles Wahong’o, Kabage was killed in a road accident on Friday night after his car lost control.

Wahong'o stated that Kabage was driving along the Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni direction towards Kikuyu general direction after his car lost control.

"Preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased was driving a black Land Cruiser VX when the vehicle veered off to the wrong side of the road," part of his statement read.

His family and friends confirmed the sad news revealing that he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Nairobi Hospital. He passed on at the age of 70.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is on an official trip in Tanzania, led Kenyans in mourning the lawyer.

“It is painful to lose a great friend at a time like this. I pray that God will give the family, friends, and relatives comfort and fortitude at this trying moment.

“Indeed Kenya has lost a resourceful person who was always willing and ready to offer legal aid to those who sought his help,” the President eulogised Kabage.
