Sonko Celebrates Father's Death Anniversary in Colourful Event [PHOTOS]

Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, on Saturday marked the 9th anniversary of his late father-in-law, Eliud Mathu Nyamu, in a colourful event.

The ceremony which was held in Nzeluni village in Mwingi, Kitui County, was attended by a large crowd of local residents who had come to pay their respect to the late Nyamu.

"The late Eliud Mathu Nyamu is Dad to my wife and Nairobi City County First Lady, Primrose Mbuvi. I'm praying to God that he keeps you in the most peaceful and beautiful place in heaven," Sonko posted.

Sonko was accompanied by his wife and other members of his family as he laid a wreath, before the rest joined in and sprinkled the marble-covered grave with colourful rose petals.

Netizens were quick to offer the governor their messages of encouragement on his official Facebook page.

"Was great, welcome to Mwingi sub-county, Kitui county again, we love you governor Sonko," Muithya posted.

Others were quick to point out Santrine Osinya (Sonko's adopted son), and how happy he looked.

"I can see your favourite son Santrine with you. I am happy to see the young handsome boy full of life happy God bless you Sonko this the noblest course you have done that touch me forever among many others," Angela Chelagat posted.

The governor assured the residents of Nzeluni that he would step up his efforts to bring water and electricity to the village.
