Ex- Mungiki Leader Narrates Journey to Owning 5,000 Churches

Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga recently opened up about his salvation journey and how his church has grown in tremendous strides.

In an interview with The Standard,  the host, Jael Musumba, sought to find out from Njenga if his church still existed and how it was fairing on.

The former sect leader noted as a matter of fact, that he had managed to expand his ministry from a single church to commanding more than 5ooo churches, which have transformed the lives of many people.

“We have many churches now, we have about 5000 churches and we have decided to join together with other churches. We have Redeemed Gospel, Full Gospel, and many churches. I have about 5000 bishops,” he disclosed.

In references to Mungiki’s controversial image, Njenga urged Kenyans not to criminalise them.

He urged people to consider them as relatives.

“I want to tell Kenyans that Mungiki is common people. They are your people. They are your children. You have been giving them names and those names don’t matter.

"These are the people of Kenya and we should not talk about them being just Mungiki. We want to talk about the people of Kenya,” he asserted.

Njenga also spoke about his deceased wife Grace Wairimu who was brutally murdered when he was still in prison.

He mentioned that he really missed his wife and hoped that they would reunite in heaven.

“Every person born of a human being will die. I forgave those who committed the atrocity by moved on,” he divulged.
