Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru's first meeting with lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo was not complicated.
A report by The Standard indicated that the two lovebirds met 10 years ago in a ferry channel in Likoni.
The two had travelled to Mombasa for a constitutional conference.
Unlike most people, Waiguru and Waiganjo opted to share a simple meal on their first date.
According to the publication, the couple ordered a loaf of bread and soda as they got to know more about each other.
The friendship grew over the years and it culminated into a lavish engagement on February 16 at Lord Eroll hotel in Runda.
In an earlier interview, the legal practitioner revealed that they felt it was the right time to take their relationship to the next level.
Waiguru revealed that she was taken aback by the proposal since they had not talked about formalising their relationship.
The governor exchanged vows with Waiganjo at Kiamgumo Primary School on Saturday, June 13.
