President Uhuru Kenyatta made a special request to Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru during her wedding which was held on July 13.
While delivering his speech at the function, Uhuru stated that the first-time governor should put all her efforts towards ensuring that her husband Kamotho Waiganjo is always smiling.
The president revealed that he had worked with Waiguru on several occasions and he could vouch for her.
"Kamotho I can guarantee you that you have married a wonderful girl. She's a hardworking and committed woman.
"What's now remaining is that she should focus all her energies towards ensuring that he smiles every time he comes home," Uhuru remarked.
He also told Waiguru that he was getting married to a man who will keep his word. As such, they should put their best feet forward to ensure the relationship works.
"Ann, you are also getting married to a fantastic man. He is a committed patriot of this country. He has worked hard for social justice and the Constitution that we have today.
"He's a person who cares for this country and his people. Show that very same commitment to your new bride. And with that I am sure you will live a happy and prosperous life," he added.
Waiguru and Waiganjo tied the knot at Kiamugumo High School on Saturday, July 13.
