Do Not Buy These Stolen Laptops - Govt Warns

The government has issued out an alert to Kenyans after 1,140 laptops were stolen from the Inland Container Depot.

Buyers have been categorically cautioned against buying the pilfered laptops and a list showing the serial numbers of the stolen wares made public.

Through the Daily Nation, the state issued the list of the serial numbers of the lost devices.

The theft incident has already been reported at the Inland Port Police Station under OB number OB/16/22/05/2019.

"Members of the public are urged not to buy any of the laptops with the serial numbers below," the government's notice read.

The public has also been urged to report to the nearest police station if they come across any of the devices.

Established in 1984, the Inland Container Depot in Nairobi is owned and operated by the Kenya Ports Authority and linked by rail to Mombasa port.

It provides importers with dry port facilities in the commercial heart of the country.

Following complaints by traders, President Uhuru Kenyatta recently issued a directive at the depot demanding the release of containers that had overstayed.

Below are the serial numbers of the laptops.
