Aisha Jumwa in Fresh Trouble With Raila

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is seeking to remove Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the Parliamentary Service (PSC) because of her sustained attacks against Raila Odinga.

A report by Nation indicated that the party is waiting for the president to assent to a law which guides the removal of a member from the powerful commission.

The Bill will make it easier for ODM to kick out the outspoken legislator from PSC.

Jumwa was nominated to the commission after the August 2017 elections.

However, her support of DP William Ruto's presidential ambitions has landed her in trouble with the party.

Jumwa was expelled from ODM on Friday, March 1. However, her co-accused, Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori was spared.

The party, through its Twitter account, announced that the National Governing Council (NGC) had expelled the vocal legislator for gross misconduct.

"Party NGC unanimously votes to expel Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the party. The meeting, however, deferred the decision to expel her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori following his letter of apology to the SG Edwin Sifuna in which be apologised to the party for his rebellion," the statement reads in part.

However, Jumwa protested the decision to expel her from ODM and filed a case with the PPDT on March 4, 2019, claiming that the punishment was unfair and excessive.
