Jubilee MP Forced to Apologise to Raila Over Tribal Comment [VIDEO]

Sirisia MP, John Waluke, has been forced to call for a press conference and apologise to former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga.

The legislator also asked Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju for forgiveness over remarks that he made during a speech in his constituency on July 15.

Waluke, who is the acting vice-chair in Jubilee, further asked the Luo community and the general public to forgive him as he blamed a slip of the tongue for what he had said.

“To the Secretary General of Jubilee Party, Raphael Tuju, I would like to apologise, to the Luo community and to the public at large, I never meant to say that, it was a slip of the tongue.

“I want to apologise to Tuju and Honorable Raila Odinga, the prime minister for that speech that I made,” Waluke divulged.

He further revealed that the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) had summoned him to appear before it on Thursday.

“I’m here apologising from the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry and I will not repeat it,” he added.

When questioned if the fear of arrest was the motivation behind his apology, the second term legislator was quick to refute the claim.

“I’m not afraid of being arrested, I’ve been arrested before, many times. I just felt that the utterances were bad to the community and so here I am,” he responded.

Waluke had been caught on tape, while addressing pupils at a school in his constituency, blaming Raila, Tuju and the entire Luo community of the woes that have engulfed the ruling party and the government at large.
