Ukur Yatani Makes 3 Promises After Being Appointed Treasury CS

Acting Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Ukur Yatani, has expressed his appreciation to President Uhuru Kenyatta following his appointment to the position.

Speaking to journalists after his appointment on Wednesday, the CS made three promises that he aims to realise while serving as the treasury head.

Ukur pledged that he would continue supporting the president in the new role and work with his colleagues in the cabinet for him to realise the Big 4 Agenda.

"The task ahead is enormous and expectation is very high on the part of Kenyans, but I will strive to ensure physical soundness of the economy by giving priority to support to the Big 4 agenda," he divulged.

The CS highlighted that he would also strive to ensure discipline in the Ministry was observed.

"My appointment comes at a time when there are issues that deal with governance, I'll do my level best to ensure that there is discipline at all levels," he declared.

In a press statement sent to newsrooms, State House Spokesperson, Kanze Dena, disclosed that a few changes had been made to ensure smooth operations and continuity of the National Treasury.

She noted that Labour CS Ukur Yatani Kanacho would be taking up responsibility for the National Treasury and Planning ministry.

The statement also read that Dr Julius Monzi Muia had been appointed as the Principal Secretary for the National Treasury.
