Watch Jeff Koinange's First-Ever Boda Boda Ride

Celebrated Citizen TV Journalist, Jeff Koinange, excited Kenyans in August 2017, when he took his first ride on a bodaboda.

The JKLive host was dared by Xtian Dela, a Kiss FM producer and blogger, to take the ride from Westlands Sarit Centre to the CBD in Nairobi.

The two placed a Ksh 100,000 bet on the dare and Jeff was to pay up on the event that he chickened out.

"So I want you to understand the struggles of people who use matatus and boda bodas. You have the beast bro, you never see any traffic, people just clear the roads for you," he urged.

"I want us to take a boda boda from Sarit Centre to town. From town I want us to take a matatu to Eastleigh and not just board the matatu but also be the tout," dared the blogger.

To Dela's surprise, Jeff took on the challenge and the deal was sealed with a fist bump by the two 'bro's'.

Before leaving, Dela called another friend, Asmali who was in Eastleigh, informing him of his dare to Jeff and he too, could not believe that Jeff was taking up the challenge.

"I've dared Jeff to take a boda boda from Westlands to town and a matatu from the CBD to Eastleigh and he should be the tout on the matatu," the elated producer spoke.

"Jeff cannot go on a boda boda brother, I dare him to and when he arrives I'll buy him camel milk. Unbelievable," Asmali exclaimed.

Once on the road, Jeff was surprised to learn that there was a riders' union and even stage, annulling his notion that people just flag the bikes down, and jump on them.

Dela called his 'Boda guy', and the two rode separately to the CBD. Jeff, however, refused to put on the helmet offered by the motorcyclist, claiming it would spoil his hair.

Fans on the road and in matatus were surprised to see the renowned journalist taking his first ride and at one point, while stuck in traffic, they stretched out their hands to greet Jeff.

Once in town, he happily took selfies with the citizens even trolling one particular fan, that his phone was a Chinese model.

Jeff was, however, surprised that he still had his phone with him, especially after freely interacting with people in the CBD.

Jeff exclaimed, "I'm surprised, I still have my phone with me and the ride was fantastic."

The 53-year-old claimed that he last boarded a matatu almost thirty years before the 2017 experience.
