During Wednesday night JKLive show, a young musician, Leyla Mohammed, was awarded Ksh 200,000 by nominated MP, Jennifer Shamalla.
The show host, Jeff Koinange, read out a message that had been sent specifically to the 14-year-old by the MP.
"Leyla is young, gifted, talented and promising. I shall sponsor her for up to Ksh 200,000," the Citizen TV anchor read out.
The MP further stated that she saw her perform in Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, in 2018, and was impressed.
"She says they messed up the sound on you and wants to write a cheque because she thinks you are so talented," Jeff added.
A mouth-agaped Leyla thanked the MP for her gift noting, "Thank you for sponsoring me and I hope I will meet you also."
Leyla went ahead and narrated how disappointed she got after the sound system got distorted when she was performing.
"I had not slept the whole night rehearsing that song, I just kept thinking of how the president would react and then the speakers cracked.
"However, I got to sing the song a second time and the president liked it," she divulged.
