President Uhuru Kenyatta left his audience in stitches while in Nakuru, when he flaunted a Jamaican accent in his speech.
Straight from his Jamaican trip, Uhuru could not help himself as he sprinkled a touch of some Patois (pronounced as pa·twaa) in his speech while unveiling a multi-million County Assembly for Nakuru MCAs on Wednesday, making the audience break into wild laughter.
“Indeed, over the last week, in my state visit in the republic of Jamaica. Jah Love,” Uhuru hilariously uttered, spicing the accent with the famous Jamaican phrase.
According to photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the four-storeyed Ugatuzi Plaza is made of glass finishing and valued at Ksh230 million.
He also gave an address at the county assembly, his first in any assembly, urging counties to work with the available resources.
While in Jamaica in August, Uhuru left Kenyans struggling to understand what he meant when he disclosed that he had relatives in the Carribean country.
"My wife's brother's mother is from Jamaica," Uhuru stated during his speech.
Kenyans began trying to connect the dots to get to the bottom of his revelation.
Many netizens wondered why the president did not refer to his Jamaican relative as his mother-in-law since the said person was his wife's brother's mother.
A section of Kenyans stated that Uhuru reminded them of family get-togethers, where introductions by distant relatives were hard to follow due to the complex nature of the relationships.
Others used the opportunity to describe their close family members by way of associating with them indirectly.
