A Safarilink plane under registration number 5Y-SLM has been involved in an accident while landing at the Kichwa Tembo Airstrip, Maasai Mara, Narok County.
In a press release by the airline, it noted that the plane ran on a couple of wilderbeests.
"The initial report we have is that a couple of Wildebeests ran across the runway as the aircraft landed," read part of the press statement.
The aircraft was carrying out a scheduled service with a route starting from Wilson airport in Nairobi to Maasai Mara and back to Nairobi (Wilson).
The airline, however, noted that all passengers and crew that had boarded the plane were safe.
"We are thankful to confirm all passengers and crew on board the aircraft are safe and there are no injuries or fatalities," read the statement.
The airline dispatched another aircraft to take engineers and company staff to the site to further assess the situation.
"We wish to thank friends of Safarilink on the ground at Kichwa Tembo for all their assistance and cooperation," the press statement noted.
