DP Ruto's Push Ups Before Scoring Penalty Excites Kenyans [VIDEO]

Deputy President William Ruto, on Friday, while attending the Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) games in Kericho County, left the crowds screaming in excitement.

The DP, who was set to take a ceremonial penalty in the games, first decided to warm-up for the mountainous task ahead.

In his warm-up, Ruto decided to do some press-ups and the crowds could not stay calm as he performed them one after the other.

After he completed his nine push-ups, the DP proceeded to take his penalty, which he scored with ease as he sent the keeper the wrong way.

After scoring, Ruto was placed between the goalposts, as the keeper, and ended up saving a horribly taken penalty.

The crowd was left cheering as the second in command made a victory lap for his ‘heroics’ after the ceremonial penalties.

Ruto was making up for the fact that the could not attend the opening ceremony for the games and as a result, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya had taken charge.

The hosts, Kericho County men and women teams, both lost in the tug of war competition watched by governors Professor Paul Chepkwony (Kericho), his Kisii counterpart James Ongwae, Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri) and Cornel Rasanga (Siaya).

Nakuru County team, coached by Deputy Governor Dr Erick Korir, won the women’s title after twice flooring their Kericho counterparts who were coached by Deputy Governor Susan Kikwai.

Kericho County men’s team was no match for Nairobi County, that held onto their turf to floor the hosts.
