Tremors Reported in Parts of Nairobi

An earth tremor was on Tuesday morning felt in parts of the country, according to Citzen TV.

The media house reported that the tremor was felt in some parts of Nairobi, Ruiru, Mombasa and Tanzania.

Kenyans, in their usual inquisitive nature, took to social media to highlight the strange happenings, some questioning if indeed there was a tremor.

"I felt a tremor that went on for an uncomfortably long time in Nairobi," Nyokabi Mburu tweeted.

"Who felt the earth tremor? Esmael Omar inquired.

"Tremor along Waiyaki Way," Nyambura weighed in.

Relevant authorities have, however, not released an official report following the news.

In March 2019, Kenya experienced a tremor of magnitude 4.8. The tremor was linked to an earthquake that struck Indonesia earlier that day.

An earth tremor is a sudden shaking of the ground as a result of movements within the earth's crust or volcanic action.

A tremor is of smaller magnitude compared to an earthquake.
