Watch Lawyer Embarrass Himself in Job Interview With Maraga

George Morara, a lawyer claiming to work for Gary Ombonge and Company Advocates, became the butt of jokes after his embarrassing interview video, went viral.

In an undated 21 minutes 14 seconds video, the lawyer who claimed to have been in practice for a period of 15 years, seemed unable to answer questions posed to him by the Judicial Service Commission, during a job interview to become a judge of the Environmental Land Court.

Things began getting shaky immediately he was asked what his legal philosophy was and he started stuttering.

"Uuuummm, uuuhh my legal philosophy is that I'm aaaa, uuumm, a person who believes in change, who believes in an actual change, dynamic in a sense that we make the laws and prudence, it keeps on changing progressively and arises from the community," he was heard telling the commission.

He was also asked how the Constitution of Kenya secures judicial independence, but Morara struggled to give an answer to that as well.

"The constitution is under the article uuummm... I have forgotten the article. It is separated, they have separated the three arms of the government, the Judiciary, Legislature and..." he narrates.

One of the interviewers was heard asking him, "Did you get my question?" as he went ahead and repeated what he had previously asked.

From the tone of their voices, one could tell that the judges are not impressed with his answers.

While referring to Morara's CV, which stated that he loved reading, one of the judges asked what book he was currently reading and yet again, the lawyer was unable to answer the question.

"The book I read, that is...it's been a while," he divulged.

A lawyer who saw the video, Angela Njeri, told Kenyans.co.ke that Morara had embarrassed the law society.

"This is a practicing advocate who is meant to be conversant with the laws and the constitution, however, this is a highlight of blatant failure to understand or know the laws,' she divulged.
