President Uhuru Kenyatta, on Thursday, September 5, surprised Kajiado Governor Joseph ole Lenku with a gift worth Ksh 400,000.
The governor had accompanied the president who had travelled to the coastal town of Mombasa to launch the Mombasa ASK show.
Uhuru presented the governor with a bull that was on auction at the event.
Lenku was among dignitaries who were awarded by the head of state for their good performance in their respective fields.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho was also awarded during the event.
Taking to social media, Lenku expressed his gratitude to the president for recognising his efforts and those of his county residents enough to consider them for the award.
"Wish to thank H.E Uhuru Kenyatta for extending his generosity to me and the people of Kajiado by buying me a Sh 400,000 pedigree bull at the Mombasa ASK Show.
"We value your true friendship and the support you continue to give Kajiado people," he posted.
That was, however, not the first time the president splashed such as huge sum on single livestock.
During an auction in Narok in December 2018, Uhuru acquired a 1460kg cow that went for a mouthwatering Ksh1.1 million.
