Jimmy Gait Brings JKIA to Standstill

Gospel musician Jimmy Gait received a hero's welcome on his return from India, bringing Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at a standstill on Sunday, September 15.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the musician who had sought specialised medical assessment in India over cancer fears was mobbed by fans who had anxiously waited for his return complete with a red carpet.

"I feel loved, supported and I thank you so much. I give praise to God for enabling me to travel to India where I was assessed. I know you all can recall I was informed that I will be operated on in India, but due to your prayers, the surgery was cancelled. I had a very good experience and was treated well. I can shout as my throat has been treated," Jimmy announced through his YouTube channel amid bouts of applauses from the crowd.

"I was so overwhelmed by how I was received. It was amazing," he added while speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on phone.

While in India, the musician expressed his shock while announcing results of the numerous tests he took while undergoing treatment abroad.

Addressing his fans through a video on his YouTube channel, the musician had revealed that he was surprised by the results he got from the Indian doctors, which contradicted the prognosis their Kenyan counterparts had given him.

Gait explained that Kenyan doctors had recommended that he undergoes a throat operation after preliminary observation.

In India, however, the doctor ran several tests to ascertain what the source of the problem was and as it turned out, an operation was not necessary. He revealed he was suffering from hyperacidity.

The tests also indicated that the problem originated from the stomach and that if left untreated, it would have possibly led to cancer.

Murang'a Woman Representative, Sabina Chege, paid him a visit during his stay in the Asian nation.
