ODM Director Narrates Miraculous Survival After Being Poisoned

Orange Democratic Party's Communications Director, Philip Etale, has opened up about traumatic episodes that nearly killed him during his childhood.

In a detailed post on his Facebook page, Etale recounted the last conversation he held with his late father who reminded him how he almost died after partaking a poisoned meal at his neighbour's house.

He further disclosed that he survived the ordeal because the children of the family that had poisoned him also ate the contaminated food and it was their illness that raised an alarm.

"In life, there are ups and downs. Remember your mother and I told you that you were once poisoned at age three when we used to live and work in Yala.

"You were literally dead, but luckily you shared the food with the children of the family that poisoned you and when they fell sick, you came back to life", Etale quoted his father.

The director also recalled how his father reminded him of his importance to the family.

"In our final conversation with my dad, he told me, '"You are the light of our family, you have made us proud as a family, I am so proud of you'

"When your mother died, then your son and your step-mother, you lifted our name and I am blessed to have you as my son," he continued.

Etale's father died on Sunday, January 28, 2018, and his burial was attended by numerous dignitaries including former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga and a host of MPs and senators.
