Deputy President William Ruto's ally, Kandara MP Alice Wahome, came out guns blazing against Gender CAS, Rachael Shebesh, alleging that the Team Embrace leader was heading for destruction.
The MP was speaking at an Inua Mama event in Tharaka Nithi County on Friday, September 27.
According to Wahome, Shebesh had ulterior motives after meeting former Mungiki sect leader, Maina Njenga, and campaigned for ODM's Kibra candidate, Imran Okoth in two separate meetings.
"Shebesh is a public servant after being appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta. However, she is headed for destruction. We want to caution her because she is a woman leader, as we ask her to tender her resignation immediately because she is not working as a public servant," Wahome lamented.
"It is not astounding that Shebesh is meeting young men when she should be working for the government. The discussion she held at night implies that she is out to mislead the youth," the legislator cried out.
Wahome further claimed that Shebesh's sentiments and actions were detrimental to the peace and cohesion in Kenya.
"We had a problem with the youth and they reformed. Right now she is out to turn the youth against each other, which may lead to a war break out between Rift Valley and Mount Kenya regions," Wahome alleged.
The Inua Mama leader also claimed that Shebesh's move was politically instigated.
"Shebesh is bound by law not to politic yet she contravened the law. She should read her job description and quit. If she does not, then Kenyatta has an obligation to fire her so that she can go vie for a political seat.
"We know she wants to vie in Nairobi because she attacked our outfit, Inua Mama, while calling upon the youth to protect her. I urge the youth to reject Shebesh and her ulterior motives," Wahome warned.
However, Nairobi Woman Representative, Esther Passaris, jumped to Shebesh's defence and accused Wahome of tarnishing Shebesh's name.
"I don't think Shebesh has a problem at all as she has been working in regards to the stipulated laws. She works under the president and her position in the Gender Ministry is one of the posts that preach peace and cohesion. Shebesh has not wronged anyone at all.
"Our outfit Team Embrace is all about speaking against disunity and urging people to unite. The Inua Mama picked a war with us when we said that they were using government machinery to campaign. They are the ones campaigning and are using the divisions within Jubilee to point fingers at everyone," Passaris lashed out while speaking with Kenyans.co.ke newsroom.
In a video shared on Twitter by Dennis Itumbi on Wednesday, September 25, Njenga was addressing a group of youth that had visited his home in the presence of Youth and Gender CAS Rachael Shebesh.
He further stated that they were going to accompany 'Team Embrace' in their various exploits across the country in support of their agenda.
On Friday, September 27, alleged that President Uhuru Kenyatta was coerced to endorse the Kibra Jubilee parliamentary candidate McDonald Mariga.
Shebesh, who was speaking to women in Kibra constituency, stated that Ruto and his allies gained access to State House through the back door.
