Davis Mwabili, popularly known as Inspekta Mwala opened up on the discrimination he has continued to face due to his height.
In a video uploaded on YouTube on Monday, September 30, the actor and radio presenter talked about the challenges he has faced as a person of short stature.
“My parents wondered why I wasn’t growing as tall as children my age. They thought they had made a mistake,” he disclosed.
Mwala narrated that he started dating late because he was scared of girls and his height played a role in this.
“I was small and the girls my age were way taller, some even thought I was a child back then,” he confirmed.
He recalled one instance when he almost got kidnapped in Mombasa when a woman thought he was too cute and wanted to adopt him.
“The woman thought I was a small kid and started exclaiming how handsome I looked. I had to run away from her,” he reported.
The actor complained of how he had to put his clothes below his bed when he visited hotel rooms that had wardrobes too high for him.
He also shared his experiences with cleaning up in hotel rooms saying it was a little too hard for him.
“I usually hate it when showers in Hotel rooms are way up that I have to climb on a stool to get there,” he revealed.
Mwala, however, affirmed that his condition was not a disability as many would think. He expressed his challenges but maintained he was a normal human being.
Mwala was being interviewed by fellow Radio Citizen presenters Jeridah Andayi and Melody Sinzore.
The actor has come under fire lately for being involved in a car accident that left 35-year-old, Ismail Mangi, dead along Mazeras highway on August 25, 2019.
