The sister of Githunguri MP Gabriel Kago was found dead on Friday, October 4, 2019.
Jane Murigi's body was discovered at Membley, in Ruiru.
The MP confirmed the death to the Daily Nation, adding they suspect she was murdered.
K24 Digital reported that Stephen Ndoro, Murugi's husband was arrested in connection with her mysterious death.
Ruiru police boss, Mutwiri Ringera, told the publication that the scene suggested a suicide.
“A scarf tied to a necktie was found hanging from the toilet window,” Ringera told K24 Digital.
The deceased's spouse stated that he woke up to find his wife missing from the bed and upon going to the toilet, he stumbled on her body.
The late nurse was on maternity leave and leaves behind a two-month-old baby.
Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba, who is Ndoro’s neighbour, and area MP Simon King’ara, were among the first people to arrive at the scene.
